About Us
CAAPSS envisions South Sudan as a safe place for children, youth, and families to live with full ability to reach their full potential and become self-sufficient and their best selves.
To empower children, youth, and families of Alberta and of South Sudan to help them overcome poverty through education, employment, and entrepreneurship.
- Empathy & Compassion: many of the children, youth, and families we support face challenges to make a living. We treat them with the same compassion and care that we would extend to our own families.
- Dignity: all beneficiaries deserve to live lives of dignity, abundance, and joy. Our seniors receive only the highest standards of excellence in care.
- Diversity and inclusivity: we support vulnerable beneficiaries of diverse backgrounds in our aim to create an inclusive atmosphere for all.
- Accountability & Transparency: we are committed to accountability and transparency before our beneficiaries, donors, funders, and stakeholders. We report to them on the use of our resources including human resources, property, and financials. Plus, we get them involved in the decision-making process via Annual General Meeting and feedback gathered through surveys.
- Optimism & Hope: A hopeful and optimistic frame-of-mind can help us deal with uncomfortable emotions and handle situations that seem insurmountable. Sees challenges as setbacks, not disasters
